I have encapsulated six societal perspectives that traverse through 2023. [ZOZE : 2023] delivers a musical diversity through the fusion of Korean music and practical genres. It is an album that offers solace to those who remember 2023 painfully, and prompts those with fading memories to recall them once again. Greetings to the tumultuous 2023(ZOZE), marked by natural disasters, wars, and relational complexities. I hope that the turmoil that permeated us in 2023 can transform into harmony, leading to a slightly better next year. Ching ZOZE One of the various meanings of 'Kwaeji-na, ching ching nane' is said to be joy expressed by people upon seeing the Japanese general Kato Kiyomasa fleeing after his defeat during the ImJin War. A tragic war is one of the numerous events in 2023. This song reinterpreted the meaning of 'Kwaeji-na, ching ching nane', envisioning the eventual peace that will come at the end of that dark day. The first verse describes the easing of COVID-19 measures in June 2023, allowing people to remove their masks and resume their daily lives. Meeting without masks led to situations where people couldn't recognize each other, and unexpected faces led to moments of confusion. The second verse highlights the excitement caused by the announcement of the Korean research team regarding the room-temperature superconductor (LK99), which created a buzz worldwide. However, it turned out that LK99 was not a room-temperature superconductor, though it captured the anticipation and excitement for scientific progress that we had hoped for. The final third verse depicts the passing of the Year of the Hare and the approaching Year of the Dragon, expressing the palpitations in the heart of the lyricist born in the Year of the Dragon.
